The North East Region have announced that their Regional Awards evening will take place on 4th October, at the Durham County Ground, Chester-Lee-Street, Durham. The Awards recognise the work of clubs, volunteers, officials and coaches, as well as the areas of partnership and disability athletics, and reward contributions and commitment to our sport over the past 12-month period.

England Athletics has held a series of local roadshows for affiliated clubs and networks giving them the opportunity to give your views about the future direction of Athletics beyond 2012. If you have not been able to attend a roadshow you can still give your views online.

Are we ready? Over the next two years athletics in this country is going to be exposed to the largest shop window in several generations and we need to be ready for the increase in interest in our sport. We must learn from the lessons of other sports and have in place the club infrastructure to deal with more participants and have the volunteers to deal with this.

14.Jun.10 £9000 worth of grants awarded to London athletics officials
Official Sports London has awarded 54 grants totalling £9000 to those wishing to begin or further their athletics officiating careers.
