18.Dec.12 Hackney Hurricanes shine at Nationwide Disability Sports Awards
Over 300 guests attended the Nationwide Disability Sports Awards on Thursday 6 December to celebrate a year of sport for disabled people. Held at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club, the evening recognised the achievements of disabled young athletes and rising stars, as well as inclusive sports clubs.

On Saturday 24th November the first of a series of 3 Parallel Success Coach and Athlete Talent Introduction Days took place in the South. The event was held at Brunel University Indoor Athletics Centre and was organised by England Athletics in partnership with UKA.

The Lea Valley Athletics Network enjoyed a record entry and turnout for their annual Indoor Disability Championships, with over 200 entries by competitors from all over London and beyond.

Following on from the news item on 12 October a very successful workshop, organised in conjunction with British Blind Sport, was held at Sutcliffe Park on 20th October.

31.Oct.12 Introductions to Ambulant Running, Jumping and Throwing for coaches
Two Disability Local Coach Development Programme (LCDP) Workshops will be held in the South in the next few months. They are An Introduction to Ambulant Running and Jumping, and An Introduction to Ambulant and Seated Throws.
