Sue Browne and Greg Sendell who are both active Run England leaders in Wandsworth organised the 5k Putney River Run which was a huge success.

It’s been a special year for London with some very special people stepping up to the plate on many occasions. Those people, coaches, officials and volunteers were paid tribute to at the London Regional Volunteer Awards 2012.

26.Nov.12 Highgate on a roll
The Liddiard Trophy Cross Country Cup was held at Fryent Park, Kingsbury on Saturday, the latest occurance of the event that has been held by Queens Park Harriers since 1947. Ealing's Mike Barratt, who died at the age of 80 on the 15th of November won this race ten times and for 21 years consecutively he was in the first three home.

There are still some places left on a workshop entitled "Hurdles: Technical transitions through the age groups" to be held in Sutton, Surrey on 8th December.

20.Nov.12 South of England Athletics Officials' Association AGM: this Sunday
The South of England Athletics Officials' Association (SEAOA) will be holding its' annual AGM in Eton this Sunday. The Association are keen to make some changes to their constitution, which will give more flexibility as regards the date of the AGM, so a quorum this time is vital.

20.Nov.12 Mike Barratt 1932-2012
England Athletics was saddened to hear of the passing of Mike Barratt.
Mike, who was born on 27th October 1932, first joined Ealing Harriers in 1948 and gave more than 60 years of service to the club over a period which saw club mergers changing the club first to Ealing & Southall AC and then Ealing, Southall & Middlesex AC.
