East Midlands returned with no less than seven individual titles from the Aviva English Schools Championships staged at Sheffield’s Don Valley stadium, writes Tom McCook. The girls accomplished an impressive nap hand of victories, including a hat trick in the Senior age group, compared with a couple of wins by their male counterparts.

Jim Edwards recently completed the second of 2 flying coach visits to Newark AC covering throws. Jim worked with coaches and athletes in the shot put, discus and hammer throwing events during the 2 sessions.

Leicestershire athletes took home half a dozen titles and a couple of Championship Best Performances (CBPs) when the Midland championships were held at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium recently.
