20.Dec.11 Coaching the female endurance athlete - Taunton

A workshop "coaching the female endurance athlete" will take place on 22nd January in Taunton. The workshop will host a number of specialist speakers including Associate Professor of Medicine Dr Millicent Stone, Strength and Conditioning expert Chris McLeod, and top coaches Charlotte Fisher and Mark Brace.

Enthusiasts from around the region assembled in Exeter recently for the 2011 England Athletics South West Award. Nigel Rowe, the Chairman of the South West Council made the presentations to the following recipients who have all worked very hard to make a positive difference

The third Avon Network Coach and Athlete development day of the year took place recently at the University of Bath’s first rate indoor facilities, and focussed on Pole Vault for Beginners, Speed, Javelin and Shot, and Lifting for Beginners and Improvers.

The Duchy Athletics Network Coaches’ Forum held at Truro Prep School offered the chance for coaches to get some hands on experience of an ‘own body weight strength and conditioning’ session and a ‘plyometrics’ training workshop.
