20.Mar.12 Croydon Harriers part of the Surrey Success Story At English Schools
Three Croydon Harriers enjoyed top 100 finishes while representing Surrey at the English Schools cross-country championships in Somerset. Mark Plackett bowed out of the young athlete ranks in style finishing in 53rd in 24:55 over the 7.05km course in the senior boy’s race. He was the first finisher for Surrey. Peter Chambers was 78th (25:22) out of the 311 finishers, with the pair helping the county finish ninth in the team race.

GB International sprinter, Olympian and Commonwealth Games relay gold medallist Laura Turner treated 12 coaches in South London to a detailed insight into how an athlete prepares and copes with competition across many levels.

19.Mar.12 Katie places 3rd in Active Wandsworth Sports Person of the Year 2011
Herne Hill Harriers' junior international athlete Katie Snowden placed 3rd in the Active Wandsworth Sports Person of the Year Award 2011, the most prestigious of those on offer at the Civic Suite on Thursday 8th March. This latest accolade, received the day before her 18th birthday, was another reward for Katie's fine year, which saw her win gold in the Commonwealth Youth Games 800m and place 7th in the World Youth Championship at the same distance.

14.Mar.12 Festival of Running and the Bowel Cancer Awareness 5k
Sunday 4th March 2012 was the day of the Finsbury Park Festival of Running. Starting with Mini Marathon trials in the morning followed by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation organised Bowel Cancer Awareness 5k run.
London Heathside AC not only organised and delivered the Mini Marathon trials but also designed and marshalled the course for the 5k charity fun run. -
14.Mar.12 Successful Haringey Sportivate Bid!
The Haringey Athletics Activator was delighted to receive confirmation of Sportivate Funding from Pro-Active North London at the beginning of January 2012, for the princely sum of £820 to begin a wheelchair racing group, affiliated with Enfield and Haringey Athletics Club as part of the Sunday club morning at the White Hart Lane Community Sport Centre.

13.Mar.12 Harriers enjoy strong turnout at inter-counties championships
A number of athletes from the Herne Hill Harriers were selected to run for their counties at the Cross-Country Inter-Counties Championships on 10 March held at Crofton Park, Birmingham. Under-13 star, Breagha Campbell, was the highest placed athlete for the Harriers on the day, finishing in 7th place to lead the Surrey team to 6th place overall. Earlier in the week...
