Over 300 guests attended the Nationwide Disability Sports Awards on Thursday 6 December to celebrate a year of sport for disabled people. Held at The Point, Lancashire County Cricket Club, the evening recognised the achievements of disabled young athletes and rising stars, as well as inclusive sports clubs.

On Saturday 24th November the first of a series of 3 Parallel Success Coach and Athlete Talent Introduction Days took place in the South. The event was held at Brunel University Indoor Athletics Centre and was organised by England Athletics in partnership with UKA.

2012 has been a very special year, with Olympic memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. For the spectators watching, they just saw the athletes performing..... but those involved in coaching, officiating and administering know that it takes a whole team of people, mainly working quietly behind the scenes, to ensure that an athlete reaches their potential.

England Athletics have signed the Government’s Charter to tackle homophobia and transphobia in sport because we are committed to standing up to discrimination, building a more family friendly club and create an environment where there is no room for abuse within sport.
