31.Jan.11 LCDP takes a leap forward at Lee Valley
10 coaches came together for a jumps development day at Lee Valley Athletics Centre on Saturday 22nd January. The day focussed on two specific events the Long Jump and Pole vault, and was part of the Local Coach Development Programme.

Teams from Essex will again be competing in the Regional Sportshall finals after a very successful relaunch of the format in the county through the Essex McCain Athletics Network which hosted an excellent selection event at Chelmsford Sport & Athletics Centre.

On a cold and wind lashed Basildon track complete with JCBs working away on the refurbished stadium - 65 young athletes embraced Essex McCain Athletics Network’s Event 2 in the QuadKids series and laughed in the face of the elements.

13.Jan.11 "Beat-the-wave" engages parents as Orion win trophy
Orion Harriers carried off the new “10-out-of-10, Youth Focused-Youth Driven” trophy at the Lee Valley Indoor Athletic Centre. The three match inter-club competition was for children in school Years 4 to 9.

12.Jan.11 Harlow Athletics Club to host fun all ability competitions
Harlow Athletics Club All Ability Section aims to help with development of athletics for disabled people. They are organizing a couple of fun all-ability competitions for all age groups and targeted at grass roots level encouraging participation into competition.
