  • 24.Sep.10 Pole Vault, Hammer, Discus and Endurance coach development

    The Cheshire McCain Athletics Network is holding a coach and athlete development day for for all coaches and athletes wishing to learn new skills to improve on existing knowledge within the events of Pole Vault, Hammer, Discus and Endurance.  It will also cover how non-traditional athletics activities can support and develop athletes.

    24.Sep.10 Londoners respond to the Run in England call

    An appeal for more volunteers to become Run in England leaders in London has met with a fantastic response.   Within a week of alerting the capital that there were subsidised leadership training courses on offer, 10 new people signed up to the project.

  • 24.Sep.10 Local school pupils welcome athlete stars of Great North Run

    In the run up to the Great North Run in Gateshead at the weekend, young pupils at All Saints College in Newcastle were treated to a visit from top athletes and coaches to hear them talk about their expereinces of the event.

  • 24.Sep.10 Y&H Endurance Programme announced

    The first Endurance session of the winter will take place on Saturday 2nd October in Leeds.  Led by Brian Scobie with guest speaker Peter Elliott, this workshop will provide coaches with planning principles to enable them to plan the winter programme

    23.Sep.10 Update from Commonwealth Games England

    Commonwealth Games England and its 17 member sports today unanimously agreed that they will go to the Delhi Games. Commonwealth Games England's Chef de Mission, Craig Hunter, and its team in Delhi, are now seeing the improved levels of resourcing which they believe are required to resolve the significant operational issues, but Commonwealth Games England will continue to monitor the situation daily to ensure the Village and stadia are safe and fit for purpose.

    22.Sep.10 Commonwealth Games England continues to confirm its participation in the Commonwealth Games

    Commonwealth Games England (CGE) continues to believe that the situation in Delhi is serious and is monitoring this constantly with its Chef de Mission and its team in Delhi. It is continuing to seek assurances from the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) and the Organising Committee (OC) of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi that the Village and Venues are fit for purpose, are safe and that urgent action will be taken by the OC and the CGF to address the significant operational issues which exist.
