  • 04.Nov.09 SW Runners Win Birmingham Cross Country Challenge

    Stroud and District’s Tom Curr who won national titles at both 1500 and 3000 metres on the track this summer as well as winning the Schools International Cross Country at Bangor in March convincingly won the Men’s Under 17 race Birmingham Cross Country Challenge by almost half a minute.

    England has selected strong Teams for the Gateshead International on the 14th November, to take on teams from the other 3 Home Nations.   All the runners have already demonstrated good form this season and are sure to do well at Gateshead and a number ran for GB in last season's World Cross Country Champs.

    It's been a great week for East Midlands club Wreake Runners who were presented with awards for Charnwood Junior Sports Club Of The Year and England Athletics Junior Club of the Year.

  • 03.Nov.09 England Athletics announces Team Leader for Delhi 2010

    England Athletics has announced the appointment of John Brierley as the Team Leader for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.  Brierley was the successful Team Leader for the England athletics team at the 2002 Games in Manchester where they finished top of the athletics medal table, beating Australia with twelve gold, six silver and eleven bronze medals.

    03.Nov.09 A feast of Cross Country relay running

    The popularity of the Saucony English Cross Country Relays goes from strength to strength and the 20th Anniversary of the event held at  Berry Hill Park Mansfield saw record numbers taking part with 737 complete and 179 incomplete Teams competing. The competition was fierce throughout the day and the large number of supporters created a great atmosphere.

  • 03.Nov.09 UKA and England Athletics to run joint Endurance training day

    UKA and England Athletics are joining forces to run an Endurance training day this Saturday at the Loughborough Performance Centre.  This will include sessions with John Nuttall, UKA endurance coach, and two coaches' workshops, one led by Alison Rose.
