Bingley Harriers held their first outdoor training session at Beckfoot School following on from the indoor winter sessions. The training was advertised as the England Athletics ‘Try Athletics Day’ and the club welcomed some new attendees wanting to try athletics.

This Sunday’s Virgin London Marathon is to be started by Dorothy Tyler, the pioneering English athlete who was inducted into England Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009. Good luck to all of those who will be there!

It may have been a '100 days to go' until the greatest summer event in the world but it felt far from summer at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre where the temperature was struggling to reach double figures and short aggressive showers fell every five minutes or so.

Macclesfield Harriers and AC have been one of 190 clubs who this week have been hosting a 100 Days to Go event. Theirs saw newcomers welcomed to the sport, local clubs coming together, and international athletes paying a visit to celebrate the landmark in the countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Sussex Talent introduction Day is being organised by the Sussex Athletics Network in May. This is a two hour training and assessment session in sprints, throws, long jump and wheelchair racing.
