30.Jun.10 Greater Cambridge Athletic Network hosts first QuadKids Final
On Saturday 5th June 2010 the Greater Cambridge Athletic Network (GCAN) hosted the first GCAN QuadKids Final. The competition comprised of composite teams from local schools and junior athletic clubs including; East Cambridgeshire AC, Priory Junior School, Cambridge Community Athletic Club and Impington Community Athletic Club.

QuadKids have hit the 500 event mark for (known) events carried out and projected until September this year. This means that by then over 65,000 youngsters will have been involved in QuadKids competition alone.

Continuing from many years of Sportshall taking place in the Isle of Man, the Sportshall team travelled across the Irish Sea on the ferry to deliver the Aviva Sportshall Primary National Finals for 12 schools of 30 children.

Leicester athletes spearheaded the East Midlands challenge for medals - particularly in the field events at the recent England Athletics Aviva Under 23 and Under 20 Track and Field Championships at the Bedford International Stadium

The next generation of athletics champions have been joining in the action as Super8 competitions in athletics have been rolled out nationwide. The Balfour Beatty London Youth Games included the first ever Super8 event to take place at the historic Crystal Palace stadium.
