    20.Dec.12 South West team selection process for Mini Marathon

    The Virgin London Mini Marathon will be taking place on 21st April 2013.
    Athletes wishing to be considered for the South West Team should be aware that selections for this event will be made from the SW Champs and other national and major cross country, road and endurance track events in 2012/13.

    The South West Regional Awards were held on 5th December 2012 at the Mercure Hotel in Exeter and gave the opportuinity to award deserving volunteers from across the region with a trophy and recognition of their work in Athletics.

    04.Dec.12 Online entry open for SW champs

    Athletes are reminded that online entry is now available for the South West regional indoor track and field championships which will be held in conjunction with some Welsh Athletics events in Cardiff.

    With the half term break just starting, the cold and crisp morning did not perturb the large number of enthusiastic coaches and athletes heading for the Avon Athletics Network - Throwers Workshop, held at the University of Bath.

    National Coach Mentors for Pole Vault, Hurdles, Long Jump, High Jump, Heavy Throws will be delivering a Local Coach Development Workshop at Bath University on 8th December. It's a great opportunity for coaches to learn new skills and improve knowledge of event specifics.

    29.Nov.12 Network and college host fantastic coaching workshop

    Last weekend saw Tavistock Community College host a pod coaching session in conjunction with Armada Network for Jumps, Speed and Endurance.  National Coach Development Programme Coaches Rob Linskill (jumps) Viv Matthews (endurance) and Alan Denyer (speed) delivered a group coaching session to over 30 local coaches.
