    06.Dec.12 South East behind the scenes volunteers recognised

    2012 has been a very special year, with Olympic memories that will stay with us for the rest of our lives.  For the spectators watching, they just saw the athletes performing..... but those involved in coaching, officiating and administering know that it takes a whole team of people, mainly working quietly behind the scenes, to ensure that an athlete reaches their potential.

    31.Oct.12 Introductions to Ambulant Running, Jumping and Throwing for coaches

    Two Disability Local Coach Development Programme (LCDP) Workshops will be held in the South in the next few months.  They are An Introduction to Ambulant Running and Jumping, and An Introduction to Ambulant and Seated Throws.

    08.Oct.12 South East regional Volunteer Award winners announced

    England Athletics are pleased to announce the South East Regional winners of the England Athletics Volunteer Awards 2012.  The winners will be presented with their awards at a special evening in December.

  • Derek Derenalagi seated throwing frame design

    02.Oct.12 Workshop: design a seated throwing frame

    A free informal workshop on how to design a throwing frame for seated throwers will be held at Lee Valley and will provide an understanding of the IPC Athletics rules around frame design and will give athletes and coaches the opportunity to discuss the functional requirements for individual frame design.

    Rain certainly didn’t stop play down at Charterhouse Club in Godalming for this years’ Playground to Podium county athlete assessment day. Children with varying disabilities were invited from schools all over Surrey.

    13.Jun.12 Wheelchair Racing Development evenings in Kent

    The Kent Athletic Network in association with England Athletics, Kent County Athletics Association and supported with funding from Accentuate are to deliver once monthly Wheelchair Racing Development evenings.
