To drive the disability provision and inclusion by the network clubs forward, the South Yorkshire Athletics Network group felt a Disability mentor was essential. The South Yorkshire Athletics Network Development Officer, approached Diana Stanger of Doncaster AC to be the South Yorkshire Disability mentor - and she said yes.

England's Katrina Hart, a 100m T37 gold medal winner at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India, has been voted the International Paralympic Committee's (IPC) Athlete of the Month for October 2010 after winning a public vote.

10.Nov.10 Leeds Wheelchair clinics start with a bang
The Leeds Wheelchair racing training and mentoring clinics started with a bang on 6th November 2010. Welcoming beginners through to experienced wheelchair racers, the session catered for people wanting to come and try the sport and provided a training session for athletes now well into their winter training schedules.

The Leeds Athletics Network organised a master class for wheelchair racing at the John Charles Centre for Sport recently. The session was on ‘hard glove building’. The Athletics Network was also privileged to welcome Great Britain Paralympic Athlete, Shelly Woods.

England gold medal winning sprinter Katrina Hart has been named on a shortlist of five for the prestigious International Paralympic Committee athlete of the month award - for her stunning performance in sprinting to gold in the T37 100m at the Commonwealth Games.
