    Former Olympic champion, and now coach to many GB internationals, Linford Christie delivered a sprints workshop for coaches on the Local Coach Development Programme.

    Judging from the feedback from those in attendance at the Chelmsford's Local Coach Development Programme for aspiring coaches, the day was very productive with many a coach now considering fresh ideas to take back to their respective club’s coaching sessions.

    Sprint hurdles coaches and athletes came together from London Boroughs, Essex, Norfolk and even  Dorset to attend the first of four development days at Lee Valley.

    Jim Harvey will be leading an endurance seminar on 9th December at Lee Valley Athletics Centre.  Also assisting will be England Athletics' National Coach Mentor Bud Baldaro.

    09.Nov.09 Hammer Squad Coach Development Days introduced

    A series of Hammer sessions have been scheduled in the East region for this winter.  These sessions will be led by some of the leading coaches in the region and aim to support coaches by offering an open environment where coaches can benefit from sharing ideas and knowledge.  The first free session is on Saturday 14th November at Chelmsford.

    Newham and Essex Beagles are to be congratulated on their latest success this season; the British League Men's Team retained their British Athletics League Premiership crown.  They won the National Cross Country championships earlier this year, sent 8 athletes to the World Championships in Berlin, founded the Newham McCain Athletic Network and achieved Clubmark status.
