    England Athletics 2012In the build up to the greatest sporting event in the world and we get ever closer  to what will be the chance of a life time for many of London’s athletes to shine,  stories of athletes returning from injury and adversity are appearing  almost weekly if not daily.

    u15 u17 London Indoor Games 2012Sunday 5th Feb and the London Indoor games for u15 and u17 provided some rest bite from the cold and snow for some athletes who travelled to North London and the Lee Valley athletic centre. Although field entrants were slightly down on the previous year; the standard of competition was not compromised with consistent performances across the board.

  • 08.Feb.12 Smashing time for Herne Hill Harriers at Chichester 10K

    Ben Paviour - Chichester 10KThe Herne Hill Harriers produced some fine individual performances at the annual Chichester Priory 10K on 5 February to win second team prize and smash a number of personal records in the process. The three-man team was led home by Chris Busaileh, who finished in 8th place, clocking 30.20 minutes, just 3 seconds outside of his personal best.

  • 06.Feb.12 S Factor Athletics Club receive Clubmark Accreditation

    SFactorOn a freezing evening in February the young athletes of S Factor Athletics Club were not deterred by the minus temperatures and got on with their training session at Ladywell Arena in the London borough of Lewisham. Club Secretary Jaishree Solanke expressed her surprise that so many athletes had turned up and commented “this is typical of them they come here to meet their friends and mix with kids who go to different schools – we have a real sense of community in this club, the cold won’t stop them!” .

    A new Wheelchair Racing Group will be taking place at 11am every Sunday at the White Hart Lane Sport Centre.  All ages and levels are welcome and the sessions are open to manual wheelchair users, people with CP, leg amputees or ambulant mobility disabilities.

    Mayor's Legacy Fund DEADLINE is approachingThe last date for the Mayors Legacy spreadsheets to be submitted to Stacy Tuohy (Education Coordinator) is Friday 16th March 2012. The final invoice to National Skills Active will be produced Monday 19th March 2012. As things stand the funding is not to carry on in April 2012, however keep checking this web site for updates.
