    The first of four sprint hurdles development days at Lee Valley was a great success and the next is due to take place this weekend.

    31.Dec.09 Linford Christie Supports London Local Athletics Coaches

    Former Olympic champion, and now coach to many GB internationals, Linford Christie delivered a sprints workshop for coaches on the Local Coach Development Programme.

  • 19.Dec.09 Endurance Regional Training Day at E14

    An Endurance Regional Training Day for Coaches and Athletes (U20, U23 and Seniors) will be held on 24th January 2010, 10am - 4pm at Mile End stadium, London E14 7TW.  Endurance Coaches at Level 2 working towards Level 3; Level 3 and Level 4 are invited, as are athletes meeting a minimum standard.

    We are delighted to announce that Amy Frith has been appointed as the new Club and Coach Support Officer for Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Amy will join as a new member of the South team following Scott Grace’s internal appointment as a National Coach Mentor.

    Judging from the feedback from those in attendance at the Chelmsford's Local Coach Development Programme for aspiring coaches, the day was very productive with many a coach now considering fresh ideas to take back to their respective club’s coaching sessions.

    It was with great sadness that England Athletics learned of the death of Andy Glover. Andy was a member of Croydon Harriers and made a huge contribution to the sport of athletics. He was an England Athletics London Region Councillor, served as President of Surrey County AA, was a coach, and was an international starter who also helped out at a huge number of matches of all levels. He was officials’ secretary for the Surrey Schools Athletics Association and the UK Women's League. Andy was also involved in training and mentoring many officials.
