It may have been a '100 days to go' until the greatest summer event in the world but it felt far from summer at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre where the temperature was struggling to reach double figures and short aggressive showers fell every five minutes or so.

Macclesfield Harriers and AC have been one of 190 clubs who this week have been hosting a 100 Days to Go event. Theirs saw newcomers welcomed to the sport, local clubs coming together, and international athletes paying a visit to celebrate the landmark in the countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This week will see 190 Try Athletics Events take place across the country. The events are being hosted by clubs to mark 100 days to go until London 2012 and are providing a chance for the community to get involved in our sport.
