The 2011 Sportshall season got off to a flying start with the first of three Sportshall fixtures run by the Essex Athletics Network. A frantic and often noisy two-hours of competition, flawlessly coordinated by Sportshall Organiser Adam Burgess, certainly whetted the appetite of all concerned.

Ahead of this weekend’s England Athletics 10 mile Championships, entries are now being taken for the 2012 Half Marathon Championships that are again to take place within the Wilmslow Half Marathon on Sunday 25th March.

28.Oct.11 First Sportshall Leaders day and Competition held
On Tuesday 18th October Kevin Hill from Sportshall delivered a day of Sportshall at Norham Community Technology College. This consisted of leaders training with 14 Year 10 students throughout the morning followed by a primary school competition in the afternoon.

The final race in the inaugural runbritain grand prix for 2011 took place at the BUPA Great Birmingham Run on 23 October. Phil Wicks and Gemma Steel took top spots following the five race series.
