    30.Sep.10 Lisa Keeps on Walking Along

    31 years after she won her first national title and two decades on from when she took home a bronze medal from her Commonwealth Games debut in New Zealand, the splendidly resilient 43 year old West Midlands athlete Lisa Kehler (nee Langford) will compete in her fifth Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

    Cheshire Athletics Network hosted their first event of many as a network last week, which involved 40 members of various clubs.  The aim of the event was not only to officially launch the network but to make members of the clubs involved aware of how they could benefit from the partnership work which will be taking place.

  • 26.Sep.10 Commonwealth Games England team all set to move into Games Village

    The Commonwealth Games England Team will move into the Commonwealth Games Village in Delhi as from today.  A group of around 20 support team staff will be the first occupants of the England accommodation overnight to ensure that conditions continue to be on track for first 48 athletes to move in on Monday.

    22.Sep.10 Commonwealth Games England continues to confirm its participation in the Commonwealth Games

    Commonwealth Games England (CGE) continues to believe that the situation in Delhi is serious and is monitoring this constantly with its Chef de Mission and its team in Delhi. It is continuing to seek assurances from the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) and the Organising Committee (OC) of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi that the Village and Venues are fit for purpose, are safe and that urgent action will be taken by the OC and the CGF to address the significant operational issues which exist.

    20.Sep.10 QuadKids gearing up for 2011

    Following huge success in 2010 which saw QuadKids organise over 600 events involving 70,000 kids in competition locally, they we are gearing up for greater things in 2011.  With just over a year until 2012 which brings with it a promise of a sustainable legacy which will impact on grassroots athletics, getting more kids into the sport is a great step in contributing to this.

  • 20.Sep.10 Network Coordinates QuadKids Competition

    Three clubs from the South Staffordshire Athletics Network – Tamworth AC, Stafford Harriers and Burton AC recently took part in the Networks first QuadKids competition held at Shobnall Leisure Complex in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire.
