  • 29.Nov.10 Beginners group brings in new members for Running Club

    St Austell Running Club initiated the new group as an extension of the main club and the group has grown from a healthy 25 at the first session to now seeing 45-50 people attending each week. Other group members have become active club members.

    Team Dorset, one of the McCain Athletics Networks in the south west, have produced their first coaches' newsletter, packed full of photos, useful information, reports and forthcoming events.

    England Athletics are holding a series of three workshops in the South West aimed at coaches and their athletes to look specifically at strategies for positive focus and using various methods to help when at competitions.

    Armada Athletics Network have planned a winter of variety for Network members in the South West.  There are opportunities for workshops, masterclasses, indoor track and field events, and endurance competitions.

    Plymouth Muskeeters started over a year ago as a small club of a few keen road runners a lot of whom had been members of other local clubs.  In that time they have steadily increasing their members.

  • 05.Nov.10 Avon and Somerset Networks’ LCDP starts with Nutrition

    The England Athletics Local Coach Development Programme (LCDP) within the two McCain Athletics Networks in Avon and Somerset got off to a flying start in October with two evening seminars on “Nutrition for Developing Athletes”; one at the University of the West of England in Bristol, and the other at the Castle Leisure Centre in Taunton.
