Lincolnshire Elite Athlete Programme (LEAP) athlete Lee Cupit won a gold medal at the Olympic Park Stadium in London this month. Lee, 16, from Scopwick, near Lincoln, took part in the Sainsbury’s School Games 2012 from the 6th - 9th May

21.May.12 Inclusive Sport Fund to enable disabled people to play sport
Sport England is determined to create a meaningful and lasting community sport legacy not only from the London 2012 Olympic Games, but also the Paralympic Games, by growing sports participation by disabled people at the grassroots level. A new £8m lottery fund has been set up.

14.May.12 Newham grant allows for free disability event
After applying and gaining a ‘Let’s Get the Party Started’ Grant from Newham Council it was possible to set up a free Access Event in partnership with AccessSport with just 87 Days to go before the London 2012 Olympics.

09.May.12 British team head to Sweden in search of European athletics success
Fresh from World Indoor success in Manchester, the Great Britain Team for athletes with a learning disability was revealed today by the UK Sports Association (UKSA). 10 athletes from across the UK will challenge Europe’s best at the INAS European Athletics Championships in Gavle, Sweden.

02.May.12 PB smashed after Deaf UK champs inspiration
Inspired by meeting Deaf GB Hammer throwers Beth Sewell and Bethan Lishman at the Stoke Open, Iain Botting who was competing for his club Windsor, Slough, Eton and Hounslow in the National Junior League smashed his PB.
