Street Athletics 2008
Street Athletics is a very simple and highly effective community focussed youth engagement programme which aims to encourage young people aged under 20 from all cultural backgrounds to race each other over 60 metres.
This is the third year that Street Athletics has come to London and this year the number of events has increased to ten. Additionally, for the first time, the events will be followed by five Community days in which participants can come to a local venue and receive coaching in a variety of events – not just sprinting. Katharine Merry is leading this part of the process which is supported by London Region.
