Club & Championship entries for Virgin Money London Marathon
Athletics clubs which are Affiliated to England Athletics can now apply for club entries into the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon. Championship entries are now also open. We would like to draw your attention to how you can access these two types of entries.
The number of entries given to each club is based on the number of first claim members, over the age of 18, the club has registered with England Athletics, so please ensure your athlete registrations are up to date. Club secretaries are now able to apply for their club's places. There are no qualifying times associated with club entries.
The Club Secretary must apply to the Virgin Money London Marathon for club entries no later than 5pm on Friday 5th December 2014. If successful they will be sent a username and password to register their club runners into the event. It is the club secretary’s responsibility to ensure runners are entered and completed by the closing date of Friday 23 January 2015 at 17:00; failure to register will result in the runner not gaining an entry into the event.
Usernames and passwords from previous years are not valid
Remember - The number of entries allocated to your club is based on the number of first claim members over the age of 18 your club has registered with England Athletics. Please ensure your Athlete Registrations with England Athletics are up to date when applying for places.
Another potential way of securing an entry in the Virgin Money London Marathon is through a Championship Entry. Registered members of England Athletics affiliated clubs who have run the appropriate qualifying time can also benefit from championship entries for the Virgin Money London Marathon. Championship entries are also now open.
Please note: Club entries are distinct from Championship entries for the Virgin Money London Marathon.
If you're a registered member of an England Athletics affiliated athletics club and you've achieved a championship qualifying performance for a marathon in 2013 or 2014, you can apply for a championship entry place in the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon.
You'll need to have completed a marathon or half marathon in the same time, or faster than, the times listed below – these are the official championship qualifying performance times. Your qualifying time must have been achieved after 1st January 2013:

How to apply
Runners will need to submit their application form on the link below by the closing date of Friday 9 January 2015 at 17:00, if successful they will need to complete the online registration form by the closing date of Friday 30 January at 17:00. It is the runner’s responsibility to ensure that they receive this email and complete their application by the closing dates stated; failure to do so will result in the runner not gaining an entry.
All runners applying must have run the qualifying times stated and be a member of a UK running club. Runners must compete in the 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon in their club vests.
England Athletics Marathon Championships
The Virgin Money London Marathon also includes the England Athletics Marathon Championships.
To be eligible for the England Athletics championships all athletes must be registered with England Athletics (See UKA Rules for Competition including Rule 10.2). Please ensure your club’s athletes are registered with England Athletics.
In accordance with UKA Rule 17.2 only athletes wearing club vests are eligible for inclusion in the Team Championship. We recommend you advise your club’s athletes of this.
To be eligible to score in the Team Championships Foreign athletes should be registered as such with UKA, we advise you check whether your athletes need to be registered as foreign (For more information please see UKA Rules for Competition including Rule 5.6).
Athletes must also be registered as a Championship entry or an Elite athlete on the London Marathon entry system on the day of competition to be eligible to score for their club in the Team Championship event.
