The 5th race in the 2008 series was the St Ives Dairy Crest 10K on Sunday 20th July 2008.

We're delighted to announce that the winners of the 5th race of the 2008 GP series are:

  • Andrew Hennessy (Wells City Harriers - eligible by residence) - 1st East Region Male

  • Tamara Jordan (Stowmarket Striders) - 1st East Region Female


Full individual results and the current standings for the individual GP series and for the club GP series are posted on the results page as soon as they are available.

Individuals do not need to register for the series, but they must provide details of their England Athletics East affiliated club when registering for each race.

Individuals who are eligible because they are members of an England Athletics affiliated 1st claim club, and were either born in the East Region or have permanent residency in the East Region should notify the email address below. Please note that East region clubs should confirm by email that they wish to participate in the Grand Prix series.

The 2008 series comprises 7 races throughout the year, and awards will be made for individual performances at each race, individual performances across the series and for the best club performance throughout the series. Future GP Series races are:


October 12th -  Great Eastern Run Half-marathon, Peterborough

November 30th City of Norwich Half-marathon

The Grand Prix was launched at the 2007 Great Eastern Run in Peterborough, on Sunday 14th October. We are delighted to acknowledge the support received from the GER team in helping to establish the GP series.

 

The GP Series is supported by the Learning Skills Council through its Train To Gain programme. For further information on Train To Gain please visit:

Eligibility for the Grand Prix is open to those runners who are:

 

  • Members of an East Region England Athletics affiliated 1st claim Club

or

  • Members of an England Athletics affiliated 1st claim club, and were either born in the East Region or have permanent residency in the East Region
