Funding Opportunities

This page provides information on funding sources that your organsiation may be able to apply for additional funding from.

Distributes lottery funding to community sport and physical activity through its Community Investment Fund (CIF)

 

Often supports multi activity approaches that are either capital or revenue based (buildings or people) but they also look for significant partnership funding contributions towards the proposal.

Awards For All provides small grant aid for community groups and schools towards either capital or revenue projects that benefit participation in sports activities.

 

The East region has specific criteria for award includes a specific focus on rurality, inclusion and equality. Grants of up to £10,000 over 24 months can be accessed or used towards a bigger project as match funding. For further information click here


 

Lottery Funding is a joint website run by all Lottery funders in the UK. This site allows you to search information on current funding programmes across the UK. For further information click here


 

The Foundation For Sport & The Arts (funded by Littlewoods Pools) awards community clubs and organisations up to £40,000 towards facility projects that are aligned to well structured development plans. Many sports clubs in the East have benefited from the FSA. For more information click here
The Big Lottery Fund: Open programmes available to community projects - a range of funding streams that can award both capital and revenue projects. Potential to use Athletics to contribute towards broader agendas such as health, regeneration, education and crime prevention. Click here to find out more.
The Football Foundation supports the development of community grassroots football through significant investment into facilities and development projects. Up to 20% of overall projects can be other sports. The potential for multi-sport facilities is worht investigating. Click here to find out more

The Local Network Fund for Children and Young People supports small voluntary and community groups to improve outcomes and opportunities for children and young people aged 0-19.

 

The object of the fund is to enable communities, with limited opportunities or access to services that many young people take for granted, to develop projects and activities for children and young people.

 

Advice and support is available to groups for project development, establishing and running community projects and developing safeguarding procedures. The fund offers grants between £250 and £7000. Click here to find out more.


Other Funding streams

www.biffaward.org Provides grant aid for community organisations in areas within a limited radius of a landfill site. Many community sports projects have benefited during the last few years through this programme, particularly in rural areas.

For information related to funding for projects in rural areas, the DEFRA website is a mine of information. The rural development sector is changing constantly so it will be useful to speak directly with your respective ACRE or Rural Community Council (RCC) in your county as they will be able to give you accurate information. Many non sports rural funding pots can support your athletics project if you can demonstrate how athletics can contribute towards improving the quality of life in your community.
