County Planning 2008/09
Each county athletics development group produces an athletics plan that will influence the way that they work in achieving the above.
The county develpment planning documents for 2008/09 can be found below. For more information on your plan, please contact your County Development Group Chair.
County Delivery
In each county, "how" priorities are addressed varies. Some counties employ a Partnership Athletics Development Officer (PADO) and others invest through local Community Athletics Coaches or Focus Clubs.
Further information can be obtained by looking through the respective county pages that can be accessed through this area.
This area of the site is currently under development and will be updated during the next few weeks and months.
We would advise you to contact the respective county development lead (this can be found on the CONTACTS page) for further information.
County Athletics Development Groups - A Work In Progress
Each of our county development groups is at a different stage in their evolution. As plans are being written for 2007/08, each county is spending time to review how their group is structured. Each group is different in membership and formality but each can learn from one another.
We have developed a progress self assessment form that each county group can use as they go through this process. Local ownership and collective responsibility in developing the group is key to future success. We are seeking to build a structure that will take us forward beyond 2012 so ownership of both county athletics development groups through clubs, associations and schools is fundamental.
A well structured county development group can open the doors for significant investment opportunities as well as creating a healthy environment from which athletics can be developed and shared across clubs.
This process can be applied by local clubs as well as they work to develop the way that they operate to maximise the potential they have.
