The object of the fund is to enable communities, with limited opportunities or access to services that many young people take for granted, to develop projects and activities for children and young people.

For information related to funding for projects in rural areas, the DEFRA website is a mine of information. The rural development sector is changing constantly so it will be useful to speak directly with your respective ACRE or Rural Community Council (RCC) in your county as they will be able to give you accurate information. Many non sports rural funding pots can support your athletics project if you can demonstrate how athletics can contribute towards improving the quality of life in your community.
