Road Running Funding
Funding has been made available both nationally and regionally for road running schemes and projects.
As of June 2008 the available funding pot is £100,000, from unattached levies owed to England Athletics from the last financial year. The initial pot will be split on the following basis between England Athletics centrally approved and Regionally approved projects/initiatives:
The Regional pots will be split between Regions in proportion to the number of races held and can be invested at the Region’s discretion, subject to meeting the criteria presented below.
The East Midlands Region has £3366.00 available which the East Midlands Council has agreed to increase to £5000.00.
Criteria:
- Raise coaching and performance standards
- Raise event management, safety and officiating standards
- Develop new events in previously untapped communities (e.g. ethnic minority populations)
- Attract young people into distance running
· Note 1: Proposals that deliver benefit on a UK-wide basis or support elite performance development fall into the remit of the UKA-RRLG and should be referred to that group for funding from the UKA-RRLG pot.
· Note 2: Funds cannot be used to financially support races except in meeting criteria 1-4 above
Funding application forms for both national and regional funding can be found to download at the bottom of this page. Details of who to submit application forms to are also explained.
Any questions regarding either funding pot please contact the regional office.
