Coaching - South East
This page is for your point of contact with the elected Regional Council system covering Coaching matters. It is set up to allow you to know who is responsible for this subject area (which we call a Portfolio) in the South East. We intend to increase the content of the page once the system is fully up and running with content like news items relevant to the portfolio either in the region or more widely and details of the matters you seem most concerned with from your feedback. I am a member of Milton Keynes AC (MMKAC), also Club Secretary. Amongst various qualifications held: an Event Group Coach for Sprints and Hurdles and a Level 3 Coaching Young Athletes; Level 2 Track Judge and Level 1 Starter/Assistant Starter. My main focus is as Head Coach Youth Development at MMKAC and coach youth development activities and multi-events most days. Other related roles are: England Athletics Tutor on Coaching Assistant courses and Leading Athletics workshops; workshop leader on Movement Skills workshops, Youth Development workshops and Hurdles on Regional Technical Days; Vice Chair the More Bucks Network; Mentor on Leap (Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes Sports Partnership) grassroots and Talent Foundation programmes.
My main motivation in becoming a Councillor was to promote best practice in coaching and improve support to coaches trying to develop themselves. My regular engagement with many coaches, from many clubs, enables me to understand and garner feedback on the issues they face.
