Clubs - Yorkshire & Humber

This page is for your point of contact with the elected Regional Council system covering club matters. It is set up to allow you to know who is responsible for this subject area (which we call a Portfolio) in Yorkshire & Humber. We intend to increase the content of the page once the system is fully up and running with content like news items relevant to the portfolio either in the region or more widely and details of the matters you seem most concerned with from your feedback. The regional councillor heading up clubs in Yorkshire & Humber is profiled below.

Getting in touch

To contact your portfolio holder simply email yorks-and-humber-council-clubs@englandathletics.org.

David Paver

David is a member of City of York AC. He was/  is a competitor (formerly, though still try slowly!) in Road, Cross Country, and the Northern Track & Field  League.

He is an Official across all disciplines of Track & Field. He officiates at a full range of events. At Track & Field this is at all levels from local to UK Championships, at Cross Country locally including at the Yorkshire & Northern Championships. At Road events this mainly is his role as York Millennium Bridge Race co-organiser.

David is Secretary of North Yorkshire Schools Athletics. He is Team Manager and fulfills other roles for North Yorkshire Sportshall Athletics teams and the Team Manager for the Yorkshire and Humebrside London Mini Marathon team.

David is a Member of England Eligibility Committee, dealing with Club Transfers and Eligibility Rules. This gives David contact with the England Athletics Registration Scheme. These areas, and how they affect clubs, are of particular interest to me.

Having done many jobs myself, and met many fellow volunteers at events and through email contact, I am keen to support the interests of those who do the Voluntary work. I know that those who work in clubs, whether in Coaching, Admin, Officiating, Team Managing, Event Organiser have a lot of demands on them and that clubs need people in all these roles. I am keen to see if / how the “system” can make things easier for them.
