Clubs - North East

This page is for your point of contact with the elected Regional Council system covering club matters. It is set up to allow you to know who is responsible for this subject area (which we call a Portfolio) in the North East. We intend to increase the content of the page once the system is fully up and running with content like news items relevant to the portfolio either in the region or more widely and details of the matters you seem most concerned with from your feedback. The regional councillor heading up clubs in the North East is profiled below.

He set up an Athletics Community Group in Morpeth open to anyone from 5yrs to 100yrs who wants to participate in athletics without fear of having to join a competitive side of Clubs Membership.

I am passionate about Youth Development and am a mentee on NCDP Youth Development with England Athletics. I am a qualified Athletics Coach, Children's Coach and LiRF. I also hold Coaching qualification's in archery, cricket, basketball.

Hemant is an elected member of the North east Regional Council and portfolio holder for Clubs , Schools & Athletics Networks..

My main aim is to raise the profile of athletics through increasing participation of children from 5yrs before they are lost to other sports. This can only be through development of Young Athletes through multidiscipline providing an access to FUNdamental athletics coaching in relaxed and enjoyable setting. I also like to see more clubs support Indoor Sportshall events whih is a very enjoyable introduction to many a school children into athletics sport!
